Sewagewater contains many nutrients that are not or not optimally used.

The Nereda technology is used for purifying wastewater. This results in an alginate-like biopolymer (ALE), a valuable raw material with both hydrophobic and hydrphilic properties. Momentarily, there is a relatively low supply of alginate and other biopolymers, increasing the price.

ALE extraction from Nereda granular sludge

In this process, ALE is extracted from the Nereda granular sludge. The ALE that is extracted has unique properties for applications in agriculture, horticulture and construction and as a basis for composite materials.
