Issue
Insufficient water quality
The quality of the water is insufficient.
Exotic crayfish have negative effects on native plants and animals, and thus on the (ecological) water quality. In addition, they dug holes in banks, which could lead to damage to flood defenses and increased dredge. Regular trapping methods (cages and traps) catch only adult, and mainly male, specimens.Solution
Pan flute trap

One side of the tubes is closed and on the other side, a rope is attatched to remove the construction out of the water. The crayfish take shelter in the trap, allowing crayfish at all stages of life to be captured.
