Issue
Eutrophication
Insufficient water quality due to a nutrient overkill.
Water with lots of nutrition causes a low chemical quality. Because of this, duckweed and algae arise.
Solution
Flushing with nutrient-poor water
Letting water with low nutrient levels into the water discharge system, ensures that the nutrient-rich water leaves the system. The combination of less nutrients with a shorter residence time leads to a reduction of duckweed and algae.

Characteristics
- Topic Water quality
- Development state 7: System prototype demonstration in an operational environment.
- Setting type Urban area
- Water type Surface water
- Project period 1-3 years
