Issue
Eutrophication
Insufficient water quality due to a nutrient overkill.
Decaying organic matter combined with upstream sediment formation is gradually closing off slow-flowing waterways. The resulting layer, which consists of organic material and fine sediment, reduces hydraulic capacity and is extremely rich in phosphate, which causes the eutrophication of waterways.
Solution
MUDTRAP
MUDTRAP is a series of specially designed troughs used to collect floating sediment particles before they settle on the water bed. These particles are pumped to a sludge dewatering container on the banks, which filters the sludge and allows the water to flow back to the stream.
