Rainwater flooding

Flooding due to heavy rainfall or high surface water levels.

Due to increased rainfall intensities, sewage systems are overloaded.

The Bufferblock is a concrete water storage, developed for urban areas. It ensures that the peak of rainfall does not end up in the sewage system, but is temporary stored or infiltrated in to the ground water. The Bufferblocks are placed underneath water permeable pavement. The bufferblocks have a capacity of 250 L/m² with a single layer and 500 L/m² with a double layer. Due to the large carrying capacity, the blocks can be placed right underneath the pavement and therefore be used in areas with a high ground water level.

  • The carrying capacity of the Bufferblock is high enough to be placed right underneath the pavement.
  • They can be inspected and cleaned with regular equipment.
  • Easy to place.
  • A lot of water storage with a small depth.
