The boundary between land and mudflat is too hard

Print Email

The potential of the area is not fully utilized

The area is not optimally managed, used or spatially arranged.

The boundary between land and mudflat is too hard. Because of this, it is hard for plants and animals to attach themselves to the dike. Also, the dike between Eemshaven and Delfzijl does not meet the safety norms.

The Rich Dike

The Rich Dike is the reorganisation of the dike between Eemshaven and Delfzijl. The reorganisation improves the water safety and the ecologic function of the dike. At this moment, the reorganisation contains the following: Tidal Pools, the Longitudinal Dam and the Pole Forest.

De Rijke Dijk
